Hello, fellow P38 sufferers - hoping someone out there has a solution. I have a 2001 P38 2.5d Wessie (RHD).
My front drivers door has superlocked and won't open from inside or outside, as a result of the door latch failing. All the other doors work fine, so not locked out of the car.
On the drivers door, the door card was already removed - so not had that hassle.
So I attempted the method of splitting the top of the lock open to allow me to remove the spring, to then in turn move the pawl with a wire rod and open the door (as described across a number of posts/forums). However, on splitting the lock, low and behold there is no spring to remove and the door remains resolutely locked!.
Not sure if this is because I have a later P38 model with the door latch actuator with grey plug = different/later design.
Question is where do I go from here? (....other than battering the damn into submission).
