Firstly thanks to all the replies I received, now the saga update.
Mobile mechanic pops lid, stands silently, shaking head. After a few moments he announces "yep, aux belt has gone and second belt, alternator is hanging off, air con unit hanging off." Turns out joker who sold me this motor had botched a few jobs before offloading said truck!!!!! wrong bolts fitted to alternator to name but one. The £30 to £40 job has now turned into a £200 to £400 job and I havnt even told him she drinks a lot of water and a knocking noise on off side front wheel on any bumps!!!!! Decision time, FIGHT OR FLIGHT, FIX OR DUMP? Watch this space!
