wanting to fit new drive belt over the weekend any tips on fitting

which engine? I've done this job on my 4.4 and 3.5 carbed. Both 15 minute jobs.

4 litre thor engine without aircon

For reference draw a picture of were and how the belts run around the pulleys

I dont like to cut the old belt off (some do) incase of the new one being wrong and if you cant get the old one off you wont get the new one on.

have a look to see if you have to remove the fan, if so can be a ####

looks like I only have to remove the fan cover to remove the belt

done took half hr and a photo on my mobile to remember wich way it went, scratched #### out of my hands on the fan but all went well

I always drop the fan off, saves a lot of grief and easy to do with a 36mm open-ended spanner and a mallet to undo the thread.

Remember that it undoes in the direction of rotation.

15mm socket on a knuckle bar to hold the tensioner off and away you go.

I can remember my layout by heart now, but first few times I have to look in Microcat, it doesn't come up in RAVE for some reason.

will know for next time, fans coming off, yeh used 15mm on tensioner worked a treat. plugs and leads next job
