OK, im new here, and new to Landies too.. (even though im old) !
but i tried a new thing this week!

Had dried out, Grey and Crispy wheel arches...
Checked the price of new ones? (OUCH!)

Tried "Turtle Wax Back-to-Black"... Too far gone....Useless !
Tried Cherry Blossom boot polish in the squashy bottle with the sponge thing (pretty useless!)
TRIED BABY OIL !!!! 'Far Canal', does it work or what?

First wiped them over with the baby oil using a small sponge....buffed it off with a cloth...(Yeah, OK finish)
...But then wiped over again with a couple of wet coats, even long strokes (ooer)
Two days later they're still Jet Black, lovely shiny satin finish..and the rain just rolls off !!
RESULT !

So im sure you all already know this little Ghetto fix.. but i thought id just share it in case anyone didn't

Thanks Y'all..
Keep it Green!
P.S. Also works on the grill, headlight surrounds and mirror backs, in fact, anything that's grey and crispy..!

Welcome Aboard :)

I have found, historically o_O, that baby oil fades quite quickly  ....

However, McGuires tyre dressing produces better results, and seems to last much better - lasting 6 months or so - the Disco in my avatar is so treated :)

Where do you get yours from, the cheapest price I found was £33 on eBay.
Well. I have contacts... I was a Wurth rep, pushing 20 years ago (I'm getting old!) and my brother in law still is one here in NZ... so I can get "special" pricing. But it does go a long way! It works well on plenty of stuff. Even shoes - it lasted a few years on :D

I did read on another forum that peanut butter works! Not tried it myself as I can’t stand the stuff… o_O

Half and half of mineral oil and baby oil does well on me plastics. Leave out in the sun to bake in. Lasts about 6 months then reapply.
