Hi,

my freelander moves just fine for the first 10 min of the journey then all of a sudden stops. When you accelerate nothing happens for about 5 seconds then it jerks and starts moving again with the downhill descent light showing on the dash board.
I recently took it to a garage in essex where I was charged £380 to replace the break selonoids. We thought that would sort the problem out but the problem came back immediately.

Any idea????

Brake selonoids? I'm guessing you mean the 4 ABS sensors? Are the ABS and TC amber lights on also? (dash lights). Disconnecting the battery will reset these! however I suspect its your VDU (think I've got that right).

The link below is not related to your problem but the pictures will identify the VDU.

I'm pretty sure someone who's more knowledgeable will be able to helpout.

Search '3 amigos' common fault, not always ABS sensors.

VCU wouldn't bring up a fault light as it is a mechanical link not an electrical one - no sensors.
