Hello to all

For those wanting to get rid of the gas engines in vehicles up to 6
ton GVW this may be the cure.
2.8 Lt turbo charged intercooled 135 HP, 277 ft pounds of torque at
1400 RPM.
We have people putting these in Land Rovers, Jeeps, Ford and GMC. will
also replace the gas eaters in Dodge units.

An example of fuel savings and power a chap with a 2002 Land Rover
Discovery has more power than with the orginal V-8 and has gone from 9
MPG to 18 MPG (US) gallon and the engine is still not broke in.

These engines are built by International engines of South America, I
fly them into Canada and the USA.
Highly adaptable to North American vehicles and used in South American
Ford trucks and busses.

Pricing for delivery to your nearest International airport is between
6000.00 and 6500.00 USD.

Sounds hell of a pricy. I put a used 2.8 nissan diesel LD 28 into my series
III landy and that cost me ZAR6500. Probably about USD1000.00. A bit more
for the adaptor plates etc. Engine ran fine for a good while and when I
rebuilt it, (Just took it out and gave complete engine to engineering shop
who returned it completely rebuilt) it cost about ZAR12000.00 or about USD
1900.

I was very happy with the conversion and returned about 10l/100km. Not sure
what that is in MPG terms but it is pretty good. Engine was brilliant at
chugging along a low revs and still revved high enough not to need to change
diff ratios.

Again USD6.5K sounds pricey.

Aside from being well overpriced, this is not a good time to toute
diesel engines! <g> Diesel fuel is more than premium gasoline in the
US now, where for many years it was less than regular.

for $6K+ you can do better.

I wonder if they are even emissions legal? Bet they are not.

Possibly. Depends on the year of the vehicle they are put in. I think,
but not sure, the magic year is about 1997 or so.

The EPA may allow them to be imported only as stationary power, IE
generators/compressors. Not as motive power. I know that they made one
person who was importing Indian made Lister engine clones stop brining
them in because of that law. They did change it but basically said that
any engine imported must be used as a stationary power source. Put it in
ANY vehicle and it is illegal. Doesn't matter what year because the
engine itself is not certified for use in vehicles.
