Hi all, I have a problem with the door mirrors on my 1988 classic. There is no sign of any wiring loom behind the dash to connect to the mirror adjusting switch, in fact when I got the vehicle the space in the dash where the switch goes was just blanked off. OK, I could live with that and fix as and when I had the time and bits the switch being like rocking horse do do. Eventually bought a good 2nd hand switch off ebay for the right money.

Today while taking the lower dash apart to replace the clutch m/c I had a look for the loom ends to plug into the switch, needless to say I can't find anything obvious. There are a number of unused connectors tied up out of the way but for the life of me I can't work out what they might be for, I know some will be for optional equip not fitted, but I can't see what is what in the workshop wiring dia.

I think if I take off a bit more trim I will be able to get at the loom where it comes into the body from the door and maybe identify some of the wiring, Is there a safe way I could put temp power to any connectors that I suspect to be the right ones to trial and error find where to connect the switch to? I am assuming that any black wire will be negative so can I temp connect to a good earth and then run a fused line from the battery to give power to other connectors to see what happens?

Thanks for that @Kev12 , yes I do have that, but being a thick ex woodbutcher I have trouble understanding wtf it's all showing me. I had another look this morning and am now convinced I need to take more of the dash apart to find (hopefully) the ends of the loom to plug into my switch panel aka "dash hole filler plate".

When I did my RRC I found the easiest way to identify a wire was to find it on the diag and follow it. There "should" only be 1 wire of each colour

Also i printed those pages out at 200% cos they were too small for me
