Hello.
Recent issue with Freelander 2 .
Passenger door suddenly stopped ability to open niether from our side nor inside , just won't open , then driver side won't ope from inside but will from outside ? Rear doors ok .it locks from fob , but still won't open from inside

The door lock actuators are known to fail.
Replace the partially working one straight away, as you won't have long before it stops working completely.
The one that isn't opening at all will be more of a challenge, as the door is now deadlocked shut.

Thanks for info , is there anyway of opening deadlocked door ? I don't have a key , only bought car 11 days ago , no key only fob ?
Thanks again

My next suggestion would be to use the emergency key.
The only options open are to order a replacement key and fob, you'll need a key at some point anyway. The vehicle was supplied with 2 keys, so it's best to have 2.

The other way is to try to get to the lock assembly, which is very difficult with the door closed.

Hi,

After removing the door trim, which is only the begging of the nightmare. You can certainly manage to open the door by accessing to the door lock.

Also you should take one day off.

Odd thing is , all doors where working fine, no issues at all then, f passenger door stopped working, then driver's door started playing up , only open from outside , rear doors also playing up , surly that's not individual door actuators ? Can't get heat around this , any thoughts anyone !!

I've seen lock actuator assemblies fail in multiples. They were all installed at the same time, operated the same number of times, and have the same motors inside the actuator assembly, so it stands to reason that the life of said motors will be similar for all doors.

The doors themselves are separated electronically, each having a door control module which powers the door electrical equipment, so theoretically there's no common link, except the data bus, which will either work or not.
