Hi

My Disco 4 has developed a fault on the door locking system. None of the car doors will open after the car has been unlocked from the fob. The tailgate does however unlock when the tailgate button on the fob is pressed. Does anyone know if there is a common fault with the locking system please? The car has done approximately 128k miles.

TIA

Mike

I`ve had a development. I have altered the settings on the Fob to open all doors on first press. This is now opening the passenger and rear doors but not the drivers door!! Wonder if its a door lock problem on the drivers side?

In that case it is most likely the door latch that has failed, or more precisely one of the motors or microswitches, not expensive but fiddly to change.
Might be worth getting the codes read.
Vids on youtube.

Got my latches from ebay, as at the time it was genuine only but now they do pattern parts.
Genuine were 80 quid, now the pattern ones seem to be 20 quid ish, bugger!

I`ve just had a look at one being changed on Youtube Lynall, looks an awkward job to do. Might be a trip to the the mechanics !!

To be fair front doors not to bad still fiddly though like all interior door work, rears avoid at all costs, mechs might want to supply the latch themselves?
