Hi All
Seems that my front left door (driver side) lock broken as it can not be closed neither with remote nor by key itself. All other doors are working correctly only the driver side doesn't.
I had issues in the past few times when this door did not open by remote and could open only from inside by using handle.
Is it probably the whole unit broken (door latch asm) or there is a chance that it is a mechanical or electrical problem which can be prepared?
Thanks

Does it still "clunk" when you activate central locking? Might just be the lever that goes from the actuator mechanism to the actual lock that has come loose.

There’s lots of info already in the forum on the D2 central locking iffy central lock appears quite common over the years.
The D2s locking is far more advanced than the D1 with its single actuator clunking backward and forwards as there are now 2 motors within the lock for lock and unlocking, if a motor has failed the lock can be removed, stripped and the iffy motor replaced, there are threads on that but most fit a replacement lock unit.
Although of course it can be a mechanical issue and in both cases it means removing the door card fora look.

Google, discovery 2 door lock issue is the quickest way to search the Landy Zone plus other forums.
This is your starter https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/help-disco-2-central-locking-problem.276251/

If you can open the door from the handles just can't lock or unlock it a new actuator is needed, simple as that... as about this:
....there are now 2 motors within the lock for lock and unlocking,....
it's true that there are 2 motors but each has it's own purpose, one is for locking and unlocking and this is the important one, the other is only for superlock, can be completely useless if superlock is disabled or not activated on purpose(which means to press the fob twice on factory setting)
