Hi,

Right, so, i've searched both google and the forum first and checked the most recent post. I still expect someone will point out the answer is right in front of me the moment i click post!

If i want to open my series 2a doors all the way, i.e. so they are flush with the wings, would safari hinges allow me to do this?

And - has anyone found a way of holding the door in at the top - with the top section being able to lift off there is obviously no support on the top half of the door - however, this means i have a gap at the top and get snowed on in bad weather (or rained on, etc.)

Cheers,

Mike :)

the only thing stopping my doors from going flat against the wings is the top bolt head on the bottom hinge, judicious use of an angle grinder would allow them to fold flat.

dunno about the hinges not really a series 2 eggspert but the doortops sticking out is normally caused by either rotten doortops or poor fitting (not likely as you can't really go wrong) are the door top fitting nuts tight? is the door top rotten?

The door is quite rotten and its a Series 2a door with a series 3 cab - so its kind of not exactly surprising it doesn't all fit together quite, though it is close, i have contemplated putting more rubber edging up there to try and weather proof it a bit better - its an old battered Landie, its never all going to fit perfectly, i just hoped i could reduce the amount of snow landing on me in bad weather!

fit a new door top, a glassed one from paddocks is only £50ish if you are prepared to strip the glass out of your old one (i would fit new runners tho) the un glassed ones are a bargain Series Body Panels
