Hey you lot where did you buy your door hinges, I ordered a set & when they turned up
half the box contents were missing. Anhoo the two hinges thats here are so poor quality..
there's just as much play in the new set as the ones im taking off.
Almost like they have been used items blasted coated & a new pin fitted.

Q is where did you buy yours and where they good quality.

Cheers :)

I believe @bankz5152 got some nice 1s in his fred.

Maybe he will pop in and confirm:)

You could get some of these stanley-national-hardware-fence-gate-hinges-cd1291-t-hinge-1d-64_1000.jpg

I’d want to polish them and show them off at that price
But then it’s a big advert for some scrote to steal it

Nah, far too blinged up chav tat if left polished...and they will be 'arf-inched. I quite like the subtly of knowing they're super-dooper YRM stainless jobbies body coloured with NATO Gloss Green ;)

Buy 5 or 6 pairs of these for the price of the yrm ones and get them all painted at the same time.

Fk me 250 quid ooofft thats sore.

That was my first thought when I started looking around at higher quality door hinges but then I thought about it...
  • they're cut and polished from solid stainless billet [they're a reassuringly good weight]
  • are properly heavy duty jobbies and will last an eon
  • the accuracy of hinge production is superb
  • I did not want to el-cheapo Chinesium ships tin/Hindistani alloy hinges
  • probably be the last non rusting part left on my land rover in 40 years time...
  • ...so could resell on eBay 2061 site for a £1000 each advertised as historic YRM hinges :)

This landy im fixing up is only somit to play with, if it was my pride n joy I wouldnt hesitate to
buy them, I will stew over it. For another 450 I can get 2 complete galvanised series doors. :D

They SS hinges are sexy tho

Is it the pin that’s slack or is it needing a packing washer? Could knock out the pin and either oversize the holes and fit a bigger pin or fit a tough nylon washer to tighten the gap up

Its the hinge thats worn away plus I cant really be arsed messing about with them, id rather
just buy some that dont wiggle out the box.
