Hi, just joined the forum. I have 90 300. Want to take the doors off, refurb and replace hinges.
I tried drilling the bolts out, but gave up after wrecking a few bits. So planning to cut the hinges off next, but the thing that’s stopping me is that if I cut the bolts, won’t I be faced with the rusted on stubs off the bolts - which I’m thinking will be even harder to remove OR will the captive nuts drop back with the bolt stub.? And I will need to somehow fish them out, magnet.?
Appreciate your experienced thoughts..

If yer chuck water over it the doors will fall oft. ;)

When drilling through metal yer normally drill a pilot hole 4mm first. Then put a bigger drill through after. Reason being yer will damage the centre tip of the 4mm bit due to use, and not the centre tip of the larger drill. When the centre tip is blunt the drill will struggle ter cut through. And centre punch the bolt ter allow correct positioning of the drill.

Just chop the whole feckin A post orf. It'll be rusty to feck and need replacing anyway.

Hi and welcome!

With a Landy, just remember all fixings will be more rusty than you first think!
