Hi, I know getting the hinges off can be tricky but can anyone recommend an online supplier of a pozi #4 bit with a 1/2 socket so I can use an impact wrench? I'd like to replace these fasteners and stop the door sagging and possibly replace the hinges.

Also, is there any use in drilling some 3mm holes in the bulkhead to get access to the back of the nut so I can soak the bolts on WD40 for a week or 2? I intend to drill a 13mm hole somewhere to get some waxoyl in there too unless there is another way in.

thanks

Jeremy

If you dont have an impact wrench yet I can recommend Halfords, it comes with the pozi bits Halfords
I managed to get 2 fasteners out..... the rest I had to drill. They are likely to be solid as a rock.
Replacing the hinges, screws and the captive nuts that clip onto the bulkhead is the way forward.
I would remove the door cards and inside handles (see Busters tips on lock replacement if unsure) and unbolt the doors leaving the hinges in place. Then drill the heads off the pozi screws so the hinges drop off. You are left with the 'studs' but you can then get access with your fingers inside the bulkhead..... just tap and wiggle and they come off with the captive nut. Try not to lose them down the pillar... you wont get them out.
The captive nut slides onto the bulkhead from an access slot hidden behind the hinge.
I would just drill the heads off.... you are replacing them anyway and save a few bob.
Other tips..... the hinges can be put on the wrong way! So make sure you get it right or the door wont shut and you have to unbolt. Its a fiddly job getting the captive nuts in place.... I used a small screw driver to pop throiugh the holes so it didn't drop down and get lost.
Shut the door before you fully tighten the hinge to the bulkhead... better chance of it lining up first time.
No need to drill your bulkhead.... all is revealed once the hinges are off. You can get waxoyle in with a tube and hand pump kit if needed
