Well the introduction to my hippo is going down hill fast !! Well actually it isn’t cause the dam brakes are been a pain replaced front disks only to find the sliders are stuck solid also discovered the right rear drum is dragging so full rebuild kit arrived, drums cylinders springs and they forgot to include the shoes !!! Now waiting for those and the sliders done the crank case breather mod stuck a new air filter in cause I was there so thought might as well now I need to solve the srs light !!
Does anyone know a reader that will give me an idea where to start looking I don’t want to spend a months wages on something if it won’t actually read the srs system it’s a 2004 facelift freelander

My Icarsoft I930 read the ABS ECU on my 05 TD4 SE, and my 04 1.8i Project Tonga.
It didn't always rear the ABS on my 2001 V6 though, it was a bit hit n miss, sometimes reading it and sometimes not.

The Delphi clone/ WOW reads everything I've tried it on so far, not just LR vehicles.

I’m starting to loose the will to live !! Finally got the shoes fitted it all in new springs, clips and even cleaned up the handbrake cable bar bit as the end part was seized solid took the self adjuster out gave that a good clean to got it all back together perfectly slide the drum back on checked the adjustment so the drum was almost binding but not fully really happy with it all AND drip drip drip must have knocked the brake pipe and it’s sprung a leak !! So now decided to replace everything all new hoses pipes the lot

I renewed all the rear brakes on mine a couple of years ago now. Funnily enough, the supplier shipped it all over (together with some other bits & pieces) but the 1 thing missing were the shoes! Some how they had put the shoes for a D3 park brake in there instead.

The job went very easily and the brakes were great after I'd replaced them. It did take a lot of bleeding though. I ended up doing all 4 corners a couple of times and put a lot of fluid through the system.

There is no salt put on the roads over here, so underneath my car is in great nick. The pipes and hoses were in good condition and didn't need changing. In the UK though, I'm told that when you disconnect the cylinders, the pipes usually are damaged and need replacing. Its a pain really, cos they are bloody expensive.

A foot of copper brake pipe and 2 10mm unions is isn't that expensive, a few £, that's all. ;)

I’m going whole hog absolutely everything is getting replaced now I’m leaving nothing out just picked up pipe and all the other gubbings including the drums, shoes, cylinders pads disks and pins all in its set me back about £200 so small price for peace of mind and it should last a good while now so I’m thinking it’s worthwhile really
