The front bumper on my 300tdi has had a bit of a bump at some point. The left hand side is pushed in slightly, the headlight washer is pressed up against the headlight, only really noticeable if you look closely. However.
Thinking about how to straighten it, if I take off the end caps and all the plastic underneath (which I'm going to junk anyway) then tie a rope round the bumper, tie the other end to my wife's car and reverse it away (gently................)

What's the chances of it all ending in disaster?

Setup a video camera first ..

I'd tie it to a tree or other immovable object, then clutch in, select reverse, rev to about 3000 and just dump the clutch, something will definitely move ...

Same as mine then:doh:, I've had a go at using brute force in shifting it but the bumper mount's weren't in the best condition so opted to leave it as is until I can afford a Heavy Duty replacement.

Well they ain't the strongest of bumper's, I've seen one straightened with another LR doing the pulling, ended up making it a lot worse and they ended up fitting a 2nd hand one. Was quite funny to see the owner's face though

This was the standard method for straightening out a Series LR bumper at a trial when I competed back in the 90s

Yup .. did it myself (three times) many moons ago ... mostly badly ..

Maybe think about getting a shaped bit of wood in behind for the rope to pull on to lessen the chance of distortion.
I used the rope pull method once to pull out damage to the front panel of a car I had 20 years ago & although it did work, the panel was damaged by the rope itself, though of course the metal wasn't anywhere near as heavy as your disco bumper.
