1st day out today with the new plus 5" shocks fitted.

really pleased with em and the ride is loads better, the only prob we now have is the dislocation cones i have are crap there the circular ones and when the springs dislocate the relocate on the bottom of the cone and dont slide back into place and you continually have to get the wheel down and whack the spring back into place which is fookin annoying:mad:

so new cones req i fink:D

couple of pics

How bent was the dislocation cone in the end ?

yeah you need them hook type relocaters.

any other issues? prop, brake lines?

i am toying with the 5" shocks, technically dont need them because "i have lockers" but you know how it is....

nice install on the rear winch aswell btw :)

lockers are good but not if your wheel is up in the air;)

brake lines were already extended and seem fine prop again is fine,im putting on some cranked arms nxt to allow for more travel .

dont really want the hook type as they grab the spring to early and stop it from dropping more, just gonna put the pyramid style ones on

good pics btw cant wait to get all mine fitted once ive got it painted and put back together :D

how much paint did you use when you painted the 90 g4 orange?

thats the ones, nice idea to have them on the chassis aswell:)

I had the exact same ones (albeit not from Terrafirma) and can't fault them. My suspension was similar to yours, 2 inch lift and +5 shocks and never had problems relocating. They seem to be a much better design than those that mount to the chassis.

fair play mate yeah i know the type you mean, and again yes obviously even locked up if there's a wheel in the air its not making traction, hence my interest in longer shocks.

youre doing well to get that kind of travel on standard arms/bushes!!

yep very impressed with it so far, buying some cranked rear arms of craigyb then gotta save up for fronts and then some wide angle props..bloody hell its never ending in it:eek:

it is never ending :(

yeah prob is the tube type cones are only for 2" shocks. i have tube type fitted, only have 2" shocks with 3" springs so strictly speaking dont need cones but as the shocks have stretched/springs sagged slightly over time they do pop out now and again so fitted basic cones.

personally id fit the pyramid type to the chassis, keep the spring on the axle at all times (extra weight = extra traction and keeps centre of gravity lower when youre on the point of tipping over...)

Looking at the pic where the spring is hitting the cone, could you try cutting/chamfering that side of the cone away, so the spring has nowhere to go but up? I doubt it'd need much ...
