going to change my injector loom on my disco td5, is there any tips and tricks any one no to when doing the job. when removing and refitting the new one.

any one many thanks.

I used the same guide as Andy stated, no problems at all. Buy new rocker cover gasket and harness off the bay (gen landie improved part is best).

www.discovery2.co.uk / Workshop /Injector Harness

Plenty of guides on this guys site, where he gets the time to go into such detail I will never know.

Off topic a bit!!
Word of caution when changing the fuel pressure block (as seen on his site also) it is a B***H of a job!!!!! I have the scars to prove it.
My local garage has a disco sitting for the same job and he offered to sub out the work to me as he could not justify his labour time when confronting the customer with the bill.

Good luck

its a real pig of a job the first time but next time you will do it loads easyer (done it 3 times) a garage that has done the job before should get it done in 30 minuits

Yes, get a genuine LR rocker cover gasket. I got a non-genuine one off ebay and it was rubbish. I had to reuse my old one in the end.

On the FPR, my local Specialist, BLRC in Belfast, charged me one hours labour to fit mine. I thought that was pretty fair.

Cheers, Andy

I would gladly pay for 1 hrs labour to get it done, well worth every penny and less swearing into the bargin. As with all landie jobs 2nd time round will be much easier.

I was in a bad mood when I did mine....... the mail order part was un-usable due to a nice deep score on the machined face errrrr!

Contacted local main dealer who ordered in part using chassis number, 2 days later drove 60 mile round trip got home removed old block, took new block out of box ----- wrong part errrrrr!!!!!! mine was the later 3 pipe type!!!!!

Moral of the story look at part on your engine and ask yourself is it a 2 PIPE or the later 3 PIPE block??
