Hello from France !

I have a problem with my 2000 Discovery 2 TD5 on high revs and cutting out whilst driving. I've read a lot on the forum but I can't solve my problem ! The problem appeared a few months ago.

1. Waste gaste moves freely ( turbo is new )
2. Replaced Injector Wiring Harness
3. Cleaned red ecu
4. Cleaned Map sensor

The EGR valve is no longer in place.

Even after all these replacements the car still splutters when I drive around 100km/h or accelerate with high revs.

If you have any suggestions... Many thanks in advance.

Is it cutting the fueling hard if you boot it? As though the throttle has gone to nothing?

If so, the waste gate modulator may be shot/disconnected/have a perished boost line (small gauge rubber piping), these are pretty cheap to replace.

Best to find someone with nanocom close by so they can see what's logged in the ECU.

I didn't expect such quick responses!!!!! Thank you so much!

The engine starts perfectly and works perfectly except at around 100km/h and if I really accelerate. This also happens on hills, on freeways for example, when the engine is under load on a hill. When driving at 110km/h, as soon as the gradient is righted, the engine cuts out !

I'll try the Sierrafery test, removing fuse F2 located in the engine compartment. And if then the engine goes up in revs without cuts, then I'll have to replace PMK100130.

So I did the "Sierrafery test" by removing fuse number 2. It is indeed much better but there are still micro cuts when I accelerate with my foot to the floor towards the speed of 100 km/h.

count the threads left out from the locknut on the wastegate rod, if there are less than 12 adjust it to 12 and see then with F2 removed but if it's a noticeabe difference with fuse removed than with it in place replace the wastegate modulator, untill then you can drive it without the fuse... if still no joy after that you'll have to do somehow to get hold of a compatible scanner and read live inputs while driving cos it can be the MAP sensor at fault... untill then check this too: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/check-td5-fuel-pump-hp.358086/

I've 15 / 16. So I will replace the wastegate modulator and test. Thank you Sierrafery ! ;-)

I'm not sure I understand Interceptorxj. Check the turbo / intercooler hoses for holes or cracks. Is that right?

No.
The hoses are made with a cloth/fabric core and are therfore like a sandwich, rubber, cloth, rubber.
What can happen is that the internal layer of rubber separates from the cloth (delaminates) and expands to fill the inside of the pipe when under vacuum.
Often this can't be seen from the outside, you need to take the pipe off and look for a bubble/blister on the inside.

After disassembly and inspection, the hose seems to be in good condition.

However, I wonder if the hose between "PMK100130 | Valve - Waste Gate" and the hose was properly connected. I reassembled everything properly this evening and will do a test tomorrow morning. To be continued...
