Have looked all over the Internet and the forums and cannot for the life of me find any on a discovery rear winch bumper.

So if anyone has any links to one, ideas of mounting plates or any useful information on a Discovery Mark 1 rear winch bumper it would be of great use to me!

Thanks Ben

I can't recall a manufactured for retail rear winch bumper for a Disco, I only know of two people with one and they both made their own, or adapted a 'heavy-duty' rear bumper .. ;)

I think the idea is - if yu drive yoself into the ****, then the best way to get out is the way yu drove in, not pulling yoself further into the mire.

yup mate had a bobtailed Disco with front and rear winches. and very useful it was too ( the rear one that is. especially when the numpty behind got stuck and exploded his tranfer box trying to unstick himself on a very tight lane.

ok but wouldnt using the front winch off someone elses vehicle behind you better :D, saves money and weight

Best I've seen was a TD5 Defender with front and rear winch fitted, at Tong ... stuck in a mudhole, and we offered to help. So he got the tirfor out the back, asked him why, the reply was that neither winch worked, had never been wired up, but they looked good!

We left him to it ...

Which I didn't like doing, but he was a tw4t ...

:) At lease he took it off-road! the ones that get my back up are the posers with all the gear fitted but have never been off tarmac.
I was getting some parts for our local Landy merchant, when I came out there was a 90 defender just parking up, it looked the dogs do-dahs! it had every conceivable accessory fitted, lifted, big tyres, winches front & rear, roll cage, spot-lights etc. etc. and it was sparkling. I asked him where he went off-roading, he looked at me aghast! if looks could have killed I'd be pushing up daises, "Off-roading! off-roading! I don't take this off-roading!!" was his reply, "oh! I see, you're just a poser then!" and walked away climbing into the disco with mud splattered up to the roof and enough dints to make it look like it's been through Afghanistan, they're the ones that I have no time for.
