Hello,

I'm thinking about getting an L reg discovery as a temporary replacement for my 300 90. But I havn't ever driver a disco and was wondering how well it would it will cope towing a livestock trailer (full with bullocks) in comparison with my 90?? the one i'm looking at has 144,000 on the clock and they're asking 500 quid for it. any idea?

Why not try it before you buy?.If its not running right it wont pull your foreskin back. Then youll have to spend time and money trying to sort it. :(

I had a tug of war with mine against my brothers fully loaded transit tipper - Discovery won! belive me they can pull and my clutch aint exactly good either.

Also managed to drag his transit home once or twice when he put petrol in it instead of derv LOL

I've towed my 16 foot trailer with various loads on it the heaviest being another disco, total weight of trailer 2.7 tons. I've got bigger than standard wheels on so the gearing is taller than standard. If anything the disco is a bit more stable espescially under braking. Probably being due to it weighing a bit more than a defender. Actual pulling power is adequate espescially when you bear in mind you can use low ratio to get moving if you need to.

Or even the longer wheelbase
