seeing lots of Discovery 5's now appearing.
Lots of people don,t like the number plate design on the back door.
I like it, because it makes the Disco 5 a wee bit different from all the other large SUV,s like,Merc,Audi etc.
Sometimes hard to tell who the manufacturer is.
My thoughts.

I do like the D5, and the rear number plate is fine too, I don't see the fuss, if I'm driving one, I'm never going to be looking at the rear number plate . Plus those that do slate it seem to forget that the number plate was never centrally mounted on D1, D, D3 or D4, so why should it matter that D5 is no different?

That is the D5 problem, D1 to 4 obviously LR.

I dont like it as it looks as dull as ditch water, but then I didnt like the D3 when it first came out and here I am driving one, then again I think the D3/4 are kind of timeless and like many old land rovers still exude some class, whereas I think the D5 will be just another car that looks pretty much like any other.

I do think the D5 has lost the plot and I genuinely cant see to many enthusiasts owing one in years to come.

Looking at the D5s for sale it seems the 2 litre engine is quite common, Im not sure a 2 litre 4 pot suits what is a very very expensive car?

I reckon I might see one or two per week so dont appear to be that popular in my area.

Still mega expensive, still got crank snapping issues on 3.0 diesel,
Number plate on previous Disco’s was more offset and square so just looked right, on D5 it’s weird. There’s even a tuning company selling a kit to centralise it, so it’ll look just like an Astramax van

I cant believe they have not sorted that crank issue yet:D

Cant tow for s***. The same 3.2t rig that a D4 and Shogun pulled nicely was a disaster with a D5. We figured it was too light or weight not well distributed. Sent back to hire company for a Hilux! Which was better but way off D4 or shogun capability.

Astwood told me they had same issue. Replaced D4 with FFRR
