Having read most things regarding Discovery 4 one thing I am not sure is how many differentials are computer controlled regarding locking. I always thought it was just the centre and rear.

The transfer box diff is controlled by a multi plate clutch which can lock the diff or provide torque biasing
The rear diff can be either an open diff or a lockable dii depending on spec. As in the transfer the electric locking diff is opperated by a multi platr clutch which can lock the diff or provide torque biasing.
All front diffs are open, however there is also 4 wheel traction control.

We don't get much trouble with hand brakes nowdays, D4's are way better than D3's in that respect.
