Hoping for some advise please guys, sorry if this has already been asked... I can’t get the search to worko_O
I’ve got a set of 235/70/16 insa turbo dakar tyres and was hoping to put them on a set of steel modulars, however I can only seem to find 8” wide wheels in D2 fitment. My question is will these tyres be ok on a 8” rim and will they fit my D2 ok with no rubbing/full articulation, the options for offset are et25 or et35 which would fit best? I have standard suspension with no lift.

Thanks
Darren

Hi Darren,
Welcome to Landyzone.
I've had a look into this for you, and going by the ETRTO (European Tyre and Rim Technical Org. - Tyre industry bible), the preferred rim width is 7j, however, the maximum acceptable rim width is in fact 8J, so you will be alright fitting your 235/70R16's.
For future reference, you could step up to a 245/70R16. I moved up to that from the 235's, and they fit perfectly without the need for a lift or cutting bodywork, and will give a few mm's extra lift.

Cheers for that Grim :)

With regards rim width and offset does anyone know if I will still get full articulation I.e. will they still clear the arches when fully compressed? According to the website the wheels stick out about 25mm more each side.
