Having read all the horror stories about Discovery 2s and searched high and low, far and wide for a good one I found this very straight and honest Discovery 2 TD5 Adventurer LE, 7 seats.
She was going to be my new adventure vehicle, loads of space for camping kit/roof tent, very capable on/off road the wide open spaces beckoned, but unfortunately due to moving to Ireland and what with their high road tax prices I have to reluctantly sell my D2.
It was converted to 5 seats with a pair of very useful land rover storage bins from an earlier pre face lift model which replace the 3rd row seats, the removed seats are included in the sale should you wish to put them back in.
Before I purchased this vehicle the fastidious previous owner had the following parts replaced..
Disc's and pad's all round, water pump and coolant, rear wheel bearing, Aircon degas and regas, all transmission and engine oil and all filters, front screen (stone chip) EGR valve blanked off, de-cat with new exhaust system manifold back, steering box and fitted a snazzy rear parking camera.
Since I have owned this vehicle I have had new steering drag links fitted including ends, plus a HD Terrafirma steering damper and a four wheel alignment, silicon hose set and K+N air filter for better breathing and throttle response, as far as I can tell she is in standard tune (non chipped) but from what I have read this is a useful addition to make.
She sailed through her Mot in May without issue.
