I have decided to replace the steering box in my D2 as it's pretty worn and wanted to get a refurbished unit as new ones are very expensive. However, speaking to John Craddock, it seems that refurbished ones aren't available for my chassis number, only new. Mine's a late 2003 model and the part number is different for the steering boxes after my chassis number than before. Does anyone know what the difference is between boxes, or if the older one's are interchangable?

There are only 2 different p/no's for the steering boxes according to LR's parts list.
QAF000010 £1212.40 inc vat (new). Remanufactured (has an E on the end of the p/no) £717.80 without arm.
QAF500050 £1212.40 " " " " " As above £1240.02 " " " " " £27.62 dearer ?
Unfortunately they don't list any chassis no ranges for the above. Having said that wasn't there a previous post (in the last few months) about the arms being different ? Could be worth a search on here.
Best of luck & please let us know how you get on.
