Hello, Just bought an 2002 Discovery2. Thick old oil had congealed and seized the piston rings. Have now fitted new rings / fuel regulator / hoses / injector loom / inter cooler / head gasket. Engine starts beautiful but only revs to 1,700'ish rpms and then misfires and quits. I have to turn off the ignition and restart. I can drive it very slowly just above tick over. Took out the accelerator, and with difficulty removed the potentiometer which had some signs of dripped water on the pedal but very clean inside. I live in St.Lucia and therefore have no access to rent a computer reader. Engine is very clean, air filter and MAF all clean. Is this an obvious fault?? or am I in for a long and painful experience?. As we say out here --- Ol de bes Mon. Jerry
