hi everyone right ive got a problem with my discoverys immobiliser. it started today as i had to undo the air bag off the steering wheel to sort a sticking horn button. i disconnected battery and left for 10 minutes before removing air bag. sorted my horn button out ands built it back up and reconnected the battery. then i went to start it and nothing, i got all ignition lights but i also got a chime that lasted a 20 seconds and a symbol flashing next to milometre it looked like 0 but with a x in the middle of it, none of the windows will go up or down and the central locking dosnt work. im guessing this is a problem with the immobiliser? ive done loads of searching but cant find anything. please help as my landy is now stuck at work in garage. it is under warranty but if its a quick fix id rather save time and hastle of getting it recoverd and getting a courtesy car. thanks

Is the red LED rapidly flashing? if not then it's not main immobiliser .... didnt u disturb the plug of the passive remobilisation exciter coil when u worked on the horns?

theres nothing mate no lights or owt, and i have no idea what that is lol

Did u unlock the car with the key? ....anyway, disconnect battery again(neg lead first) leave it 10 min. , reconnect (+) first, put ignition on pos II., leave it 5 minutes, then try to start again.

i did take off steering wheel to try and sort my ongoing problem of steering wheel been offset but i didnt end up doing it and it wnet back on exact splines on steering column. nothing works, central locking, windows, have to unclock drivers door with key etc

When u disconnected the battery did u disconnect neg. lead first? it;s important.... anyway check that fuse

take a multimeter with you and check battery voltage too.... if for some strange reason it failed under 9 V the BCU becomes inactive... good luck

Anybody had this problem before? Really need to get landy sorted asap mrs uses it for work n she's naggin like fek lol

That's weird...check F14(15A) in the engine bay too( do u remember did the LED work before that incident?)... it seems the BCU lost communication with the IDM... and that sign on the odometer shows that there is a communication issue between the BCU and the instrument pack too... it could be just a coincidence with that steering wheel removal i think. When u turn ignition on isnt the LED illuminated continuously?...if it is enter the EKA code(if u know it) , if not disconnect the battery and check the plugs of the BCU (behind the glovebox) water ingress is common there. After u plug back the BCU , reconnect battery, put ignition on pos II and leave it so for 5 minutes. I dont have other ideas right now.

Checked every fuse in car, LED is doing nothing at all completley lifeless. I'm awaiting recovery at minute as I'm taking it back to the garage I baught it off. I've tried everything and it won't accept entering EKA code either. I've checked BCU and can't see any signs of water ingress. Doing my nut in lol
