Has anyone attempted to replace the standard alarm in a D1 with an aftermarket one??? How feasible / easy would it be to do???

In the past I’ve installed a few alarm systems in vehicles although my last job was my RR that had central locking and nothing else, so fitted alarm ECU, remote central locking interface to the existing, plus ultra sonic and inertia sensors and sounder, simples.

With your D1 it can be done, a complete replacement would be removing the existing security ECU, therefore central locking, alarm sensing circuits and the immobiliser starter/fuel circuits which will require replacing, then installing a new ECU and if important a link to the MFU for the operation of the interior light when unlocking as it does now, the door actuators and wiring will be reused.
The kits have what u need to replace like for like depending on the kit u choose.
Its not hard everything is accessible, a nice Saturday morning job
