I have a 94 disco and i think my abs sensors are not working... because
intermittently when I press the breaks i gets some resistance and hear
a zzz noise.. it will be like 1500 dollars to get the sensors fixed and
I dont have that money. I was suggested to disconect the abs motor.. I
was wondering if anyone has tried this and if anyone has any comments.

cheers

I think you need to figure out just what is wrong first. Does the ABS
light come on (and does it self test correctly?)

To 'disconnect' the abs, pull the fuse. There is no reason to remove
any hardware.

But, I suspect there is nothing seriously wrong.

yes.. the abs light comes on.. but i am more concerned that the
sometimes when I hit the brakes the brakes become a lil hard..

Try pulling the fuse first.

Its probably your wheel sensors that are going out, front, rear or
both. Pretty cheap to do yourself, expensive at the dealer. Look on
ebay or a rover shop. Then get a Haynes manual and do it yourself.
I shy away from disconnecting the ABS as that is an integral part of
your vehicle. If you arent "OFF ROAD ONLY" then you probably want to
keep the abs working, or you may end up locking up all four wheels on a
slick road and slide into a fellow commuter. Keep in mind that there is
a reason that the ABS is there, it was tested and refined hundreds of
times before it made it onto your vehicle.

Plug in an OBD code reader, Autozone should be able to do it for you
for free.
