Hi Guys,
I noticed today that my Disco TD5 has lurched to the left side. It appears that the suspension is down on the front nearside causing the back offside to rise, giving the vehicle a lean to effect. There are 75K Miles on the vehicle and it is booked in for annual service next week. Should it be driven meantime? What may have gone?
A no idea driver:eek:

the air suspension on these models can be a bit problematic...

as there are coils on the front it is more likely the back has risen.

there is plenty of information here use the search and you will find.

there is also a similar thread running i will find you the link

Hi Battenberg,
Thanks for the reply and advice. My Disco doesn't have ACE (As far as I Know) I will have a better look at it tomorrow. Do you suspect it is a failure of a front coil? The drive to work this morning (Slowly) was a little "Rough" with a light banging noise when crawling in Rush hour traffic.

i think the ACE is a red herring in that thread!
however ride height sensors are probably more likeley.

It's more likely your rear suspension has pumped to the max rather than the coil colapsing at the front.

To find ACE:

If you look in the front of the drivers wheel arch, you may see a hydraulic ram. That's the ACE actuator ram

Hi Battenberg,
You were right, it is the one side at the back pumped up.
I will check today re the ACE.
It seemed this morning that it was down again, but will I have to check this later today when I park on the level somwehere that I can study it.
I 'll let you know.
Thanks again

If you are refering to that linked thread... Your ride height sensor has failed.

Change it immediatley before you loose an air bag as well.

Jack the Car, Support the CHASSIS on stands, (let the axle dangle). Remove rear wheel, change ride height sensor.

20 minute Job!

By letting the axle dangle you negate the pressure on the suspension and thefore negate the possibility of an air bag bursting and the car dropping onto it's bump stops and chopping off your arm, While your replacing the Sensor.
