So the timing is still out on my 50th anniversary disco. have changed cap, dizzy, leads, spark plugs twice now, coil, ignition module.

now someone has suggested changing the low tension lead. any idea where the hell this is located?:confused::confused::confused:

If the timing is out, changing all those bits won't make any difference.

To change the timing you need to rotate the distributor body or check that the timing gears are correctly aligned.

Where do i start. running on 7 instead of 8 still! think head gasket as moisture in exhaust. also will cut out on LPG when cold so have to left foot brake and keep revs up whilst idle. now it seems to randomly change onto Petrol when im on the motorway and want to kick down and cant get it to change back to petrol. ive had enough of this bloody car. changing the multipoint back to single see if that works at all. but if things dont pick up soon i will be selling.

Gas needs warm coolant to heat vaporiser

well its not that stuf you were told, look at the plug see what its saying, could be a bad injector. also check the idle actuator on the plenum is moving when you try to run it
and stuck your finger in to block the hole

was head gasket :( so been down at my mates getting sorted for about a week now. also taking off multipoint gas and changing back to single.

Multipoint LPG is way better than single point, especially on a V8 where the gas distribution can vary hugely between cylinders.

A decent multipoint uses the injector drivers to run the gas valves, so the ECU still thinks it's on petrol. All the other sensors are also used.

Use a composite gasket, preferable a quality brand like Reintz rather than cr*p ebay stuff.

We threw two complete HG sets a year or so back, one wasn't even marked with 'TOP' as it should have been.
