Hello Forum.

Just a proud owner of a 2000 TD5 ES Auto......

I have a few questions, and would be grateful if you my peers can answer those for.

1. Temperature - Sometime, when i drive, the temperature gauge only sits at 1/4, and again sometimes it will happily move to the centre (normal) - is there something wrong, should i check something?

2. When accelerating from standstill, I here a grinding noise, only if I really floor it. Does not happen, if lets say i am doing 20mph, and then i give it some......Again any ideas or thoughts welcome

3. where can I download a Workshop manual, I have looked at the threads but no luck, there is mention of the manuals in pdf format somewhere.

Again thank you

Nik

temp is normal, they sit at 1/4 for a while then after about 3 or 4 miles it will quickly shoot to normal, this is ok and nothing to worry about

Grinding noise hmmm. autos tend to be noisier than manuals as they rev alot to get the vehicle moving, one thing to check though, at the back of the engine there is a heater hose which is secured to the bulkhead by a plastic clip, this clip comes out and rattles very loudly on the bulkhead, its held by a nut on the inside so to fit it you'll need to take the dash out, sod that!!!! take the clip off and chuck it, it wont do any harm not being there

workshop manuals are available on ebay
