Right sober now.I have been Quoted £90 to have my electric seats activated on the bcu but i understand its a simple plug in .Can any one help me.Thanks.:
 
Thanks for replying, only got the rears in at the moment but the fronts are fully retracted so if they dont work i will have to replace them with the old ones and then get them activated .Just thought that £90 was a lot for a few minutes work.
 
it's not just the time taken to do the job though. it's the purchase of the diagnostic tool, the software updates, the training to use it, probably a garage, so there's the over heads to consider too, if the guy (or woman) doing it fries your ecu you'd probably want recompense, so there's liability insurance to consider and so on.

just put the passenger one in then, and then try it??
 
seems a bloody farce to me anyway, its an electric seat, why TF does it need to be "activated" in the ECU it should be plug it in, and away you go... maybe put a fuse in
