Old faithful 300 disco 1 mot ends tomorrow, dont know what to do with it, engine is sound uses no oil and goes like a train, I'll have to get underneath tomorrow and look at the sills but I know the rear arches are crusty, boot floor not bad at all.

Just put new cambelt , pulleys and oil seal on and new lift pump and fuel filter, oil changed twice a year due now after about six months.

Also had new discs, calipers and pads all round recently, new clutch and h/d arm last year, two new tyres on front, generally well maintained.

Shall I sell on fleabay as it is ('R' reg 180k) as spares or repair, doner 300 tdi for Defender or break it and sell the bits.

Going out to wash it now and say goodbye:(:(:(

Why not put it in for MOT?? at least that way you'll have a list of jobs needed to pass an MOT. Ready for the endless stream of "what does it need to pass an MOT" questions.

She might surprise you!

I know what it will fail on, crusty wheel arches and rusted tank strap, The rest of it is fine, even the emissions are spot on.

It had new centre box section and tail section exhaust last year, I'm not payin out 35 quid for an mot just to find that out.

I could get it through a test if I really had to by takin back seats out and seat belts and bodgin a tank strap up but I cant do it cause I'm disabled and it takes me forever to do jobs like that, I would much rather sell and spend the time on my 90;)

Some pics of sills etc

drop it at a local welding shop and get them to sort it for a couple of hundred max ?

Not spending any more money on it, wont be worth any more by doing that.
Can weld it myself but it would take me a week or more, takes me an hour to recover after taking a wheel off so I would rather not spend weeks doing it up for test.
It's a good Disco just needs someone fit and healthy to spend a few hours on it and its good for years to come.:)

It needs new front swivel seals cause the new britpart ones leak like fook, I put them on with new swivel bearings and a new ball etc, refurbed both sides, the seals are a bad fit.

Its worth what I could get for engine boxes and rads etc for 300 conversion and rest weiged in as scrap.

Will have a look on fleabay and see what the bits go for.:)

Just had a look at what the bits are selling for.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Wheels and tyres £100

Engine/gearboxes/ rad/intercooler etc for conversion £300

Axles with new brakes £50 each = £100

Rest of body/chassis weiged in £100

Pay someone £100 to strip it -£100

End up with £500

:)
