Will the chipped ecu out of my old 1999 disco fit a 2000 110 that I just bought? I doubt it but it's worth a shot :) saves me getting the new one remapped!

Try it. What you got to lose? The plugs and sockets will be the same. Your injector codes will be wrong but it should run. Let us know if it works.

It will run,the temp gauge will work backwards and the throttle may behave strangely. It will need a security relearn to make it go aswell.

I dont think it worth trying cos even if the engine starts u must re-programme it for your motor as to work properly......this procedure could be more complicated or expensive than a remap(unless u have a proper tester and enough knowledge to do it yourself)

Like I said it will run but not properly,I found this out years ago when they were new.Spare ecu's were not common and for a long time I only had a Disco one as a test unit.I found out about it not running properly in 2003 when I had a Defender in with an intermittent fault and subbed the ecu over to eliminate it from the equation.Turned out to be a broken conductor in the driver demand loom.
