Guys, I have recently replaced the pads and discs on the Disco5 twice within 6 months. Most recently 2 days ago. The issue is that when the brakes get up to temp they squeal like a stuck pig.

The garage that fitted them are JLR specialists and really do know their onions so I do have faith in them. They use genuine JLR parts for everything they do.

The question is, has anyone else had the same issue? Has JLR recently changed the material on their pads meaning they don't perform as well?

The issue is p1ssing me off as well as the garage owner. I actually feel sorry for the guys that such a trivial issue is causing such headaches. I'm hoping someone from JLR might read this and comment.

Thanks team....

99.99% of the time it is the pads vibrating on the pistons. Liberal application of copper slip on the backs of the pads will solve the issue.

This would be the most basic of car maintenance. So you have to wonder how much you should really have in them ;) :)

You’re assuming they haven’t.

If that were the case they’d squeal from off. As I said, they brakes need to get up to temp before it starts hence questioning the material compound.
