Hi All. A few months ago i bought a pair of front seats with seat heaters for my disco 4 2016, from a disco breakers. After fitting the seats with the heated seats dash control / buttons, the airbag light came up on the dash. i never got around to investigating the problem at the time, as i dont use the car much, but MOT is due in a month so i need to find the problem. i am assuming there is a fault in the seats as that's what i changed and bought the light on. I remember reading somewhere there was a common problem with these, that if the seat was moved al the way forward, the loom came under pressure and could cause a fault. I moved the seats all the way forward to take out and replace. Anybody got any more detail on this to trace the fault?

Did you swap the seat squabs over? on the d3 the passenger seat has an occupancy sensor, maybe d4 the same?
Either way I would read the codes first.

No i bought a complete seats from a 2015 HSE. Do you know whats best reader to read the codes, guess it would be a good bit of kit to have.

IID is the best but they are 500 quid, Icarsoft is a quarter of that price, you can programme with the IID but not with the Icarsoft, and tbh the Icarsoft will suit most, unless you are mod mad then you will need the IID.
Both tools retain 3/4 of their value 2nd hand.

hi

hope this may also help u, i fitted electric seats in my D3 and had the same with airbag faults, found that one of the seat belts had fired along with the partial firing of the internal airbag so had to take the seat apart to fit a new one

however as mentioned the gap iid is a fantastic tool to have , I also have an Autel AP200 , the white one and are around £60 , there a basic reader but very handy to have in ur glove box

plse have a look at ur seat belts , ur see the rubber will be compressed and a wire sticking out the end as per picture

where abouts are u located plse as maybe someone might be near u

hope that also helps a little
