changing a turbo on a disco 3 2.7 v6 .has any one got any pointers on how to go about this.i no it can be done in place but its a complete bitch to do

First time I looked at that job it occured to me that in later years its going to be out with the disc cutter to remove the LH top suspension mounts, change the turbo and weld back on.(When a turbo is close to the value of the car etc.)
Luckily I've not had to do a D3 turbo yet, makes you wonder what the design team were smoking ......

i no what you mean if the nsf top suspension arm mount was able to unbolt it and get it out of the way it would make access to the turbo a lot easier. exhaust off and front prop off and a few heat shields off now i can see it at least the oil pipes look easy to get at if the torxs screws slacken first time if not looks a bitch .intake looks ok as you get to the intercooler /intake pipes from under the wheel arch but how do you get the bolts out of the manifold.i can see one at the top and one at the bottom but cant see the rest from underneath.
