hi rebuilding my v8 shouild not be long before i start the the engine.
whats the best thing to do on start up do i let it tick over or gently increase the revs.
should i use running in oil without detergents.

read up about not idling if your bedding a new cam in, 2000rpm for 20 mins or so from memory.Failure to follow cam manufacturer's bed in guidelines =no warranty

depends on the cam but on a v8 reving as soon as the oil light is out is the prooper way
