The temperature light has come on on my 1999 TD5 Disco 2. Temperature needle stuck at bottom and doesn't move.

Any recommended next steps, I've checked oil water etc and all seems fine. Car running fine too.

I'm a bit paranoid as last time this happened I ignored it for a while and ended up needing head gasket done.

Could it just be a fault in the sensor?
Would a hawkeye or similar pick this up.

Any help much appreciated.

Change the sensor, it's an easy job and a cheap part.

Sounds like the sensor. Did it drop then come back again? Could be air in the system!?

Mine did this the other day, but when checked most the water had leaked out!!!!
