Like you, I didn't want one, only got one for a medical reason, which has since gone away. You DO get used to them and honestly the performance is pretty good. Only thing to watch out for is problems to do with the box such as M & S lights, leaks, electrical issues etc, which is why I would avoid another one. But if you really don't like it, keep looking for a manual, they are around. Much cheaper than changing boxes over.

Didn’t someone do an auto to manual conversion on a V8 not too long ago? Possibly the same sort of issues on both types of engine.
+1 - My thoughts exactly.
Anything is possible, but it's better to get a manual D2, or learn to live with the auto box.

In what way do you not get on with the auto ... ? - it could need a good service / oil change / filter change etc .....
