Hello, My disco 2 started playing up after being still for a few weeks, indicators weren't flashing, central locking wasn't working, or rear wipers, or electric windows. I completely dried out the inside of the car as it was a bit damp, took the BCU out and this was wet with condensation but there was no corrosion. This didn't solved the problem so thought it would be the IDM, or under dash fusebox. Started drying this out with the heater and everything started working again, but was intermittent, sometimes it would work, someetimes it woudn't. So I've taken the fuse box out and there was corrosion, I'm hoping this solves it. But we've not had a chance to fit the part.

The part no is YQE000251 and I'm struggling to source this as its no longer made and I can't find any second hand ones atm. Is there a list of what other fuse boxes could work with my vehicle. its a 2004 TD5

Hi, insist to find a fusebox removed from a facelift D2, that will be OK... disconnect the battery negative lead before the swap then after the swap and battery reconnection turn ignition on 2 and let it so 5 minutes before you do anything else. Try this guy

Fixed the interior Fuse Box issue, the board had some corrosion and causing shorts.

Anyway I also had intermittent M&S lights coming on, normally when going from D to Reverse. Stopping the engine always reset the lights and it would work fine as long as I didn't change the selector. Anyway I've fitted a new switch, it was working but the alignment seemed slightly out, so bought the specail tool for aligning it.

Now the lights are permanently flashing, the selector lights all lights up accept the N position which is blank, and the Engine will just not start now.

I tried to re-align xyz switch but that had no affect, so I'm starting to think either the wiring loom is frayed,

How can I check this wiring loom above the gearbox, can I gain access to it via removing the centre console?

Thanks

Yes, you access the harness by removing the console. I have very similar problems to you; the dash lights up like a Christmas tree, but in R, N or when stepping on brake - all goes dark. And it happened after heavy rain.

Have you sorted it out yet?

Hi, unfortunately the OP's last post was 20th Feb. 23 so you may not find out. I would start a new post describing your vehicles symptoms & how the problem started & anything you've tried to diagnose it, good luck.
