New bulbs in place and when I switch the headlights on one comes on but dim. after a while it sometimes brightens up, sometimes not. Usually this faiult is on the nearside but not always. Other times the main beam light comes on on the dash and the main lights dont work at all. Pulling the stalk back to switch off main beam does nothing. Waiting as few minutes often clears the problem but only one side coming on fully the other side dim!!...... As far as I can see there are no relays for this but I may be wrong, but it has beenmentioned that somethign called a 'comfort module' may be the culprit.
Anyone got an idea of whats wrong? oh it's a disco 2 2001
thanks

IMO your problem is with the wiring/earth or with he lighting switch.......that module u mentioned is named IDM(intelligent driver module) but it has to do just with the main beam warning lamp...as far as the warning lamp works this one is out of question...though if the IDM senses the main beam request to put it on the dash i would think that the switch is good...first of all check the earth connections

Have the bulbs seated properly as i cleaned my lights out and when put bulbs back one was dim but it hadn't seated correctly dirt was in one bit that had fallen in when i was moving my hand about in there.. Just a thought
