Got help of a chap last week he said to disconnect the ECU and then check if the fuse still blows so did that all still fine. Then he said to pull the fuse box and disconnect the Fuse box and lift up and remove connector 575 did that all still fine with new fuse
Drive home 5 min down road fuse blown? but Auto box still performing fine?
Ive had Discos for 7 years never come across this

I have!! its fuse Number 12 listed in manual as Automatic Gearbox that's all its listed as it keeps blowing the fuse but Auto box works perfect?
I presume it works perfect untill the fuse blows cos it's the power supply for the TCU ... check the wiring to it to not be chaffed under the seat

The same like any other fuse... it blows if there's a short on that circuit
Im sure it does like most fuses :)
but can anyone actually tell me what fuse number 12 actually does on the Auto box no one so far seems to be able to answer this question in any garage or Forum :)?

All wiring checked nothing so far fine tooth comb/ Not a big issue as Auto box works fine just cant get anyone to tell me what Fuse 12 does in the Auto box??
Thanks

This one is a bit out of left field but there is a notorious P clip on top of the tranny where the insulation/wiring often chafes and wears through until all sorts of funny stuff happens with the Auto box. Have you checked this? Do not know if this can even have anything to do with it. Did say it was out of left field!;)

I told you, it's the battery feed for the TCU...if your autobox keeps working with that fuse blown there is a botch on the wiring somewhere which gives a feed from other place
Ok thanks for the reply
However I guess I have to give in on asking what fuse 12 does for the Auto box still I cant find anyone who will tell me what it does or powers in the box if its blown how can the Auto box work?
I do know what you are saying there has to be an issue with the wiring but F trying to find that if the Auto box so far is working fine last 2 months with fuse blown

The fuse(F12) is power supply for the TCU(EAT ECU) coming from the fusebox, it has nothing to to with the gearbox harness, as shown in the diagram goes to TCU (C0193 - 26) ... ARE you 100% sure it's F12 you are speaking of ? ...better double check

Ok will check when I get a chance. Thanks for the reply

I hope it's clearely demonstrated above what's F12 for so i'd say make 100 % sure you counted well the fuses and it's really F12 cos if it was so and no botch is done to feed the TCU you should have the flashing M+S lights and limp mode

Definitely F12 every time I start up it blows went from 20A to 25A. 30A to @ 40A lasted 3-4min then got the smell and it melted
