It only comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on (as do all warning lights), then they go out when you start the engine. I'm assuming it didn't come on during the starting sequence?

i see you have done the EGR valve job to how easy was it and has it made any noticiable differance ?

Made a big difference, bought the kit with all the bits and pieces. If you decide to do this, take the sensor off the inlet manifold and give it a good clean in a solvent as it will have a lot of tar on it. Ideally, take off the inlet manifild and give it a clean (I haven't.... yet).

How can u tell that after checking a manual pls?

As far as i know the tester can't tell that the warning lamp is not working as a failure just if they run circuit tests when accessing that warning lamp it'll not illuminate.

IMO make sure that the LED is functional before u go further....for that u can use a multimeter and make some measurements.
