I bought one of these for my Disco 2 which have real letters stuck to a backing sheet and after looking at it for about a week, I let my local bodyshop fit 'em, made a nice job. Could you not do a dry run and then mark it position with masking tape ready for the final and most difficult bit, sticking them on. Good luck I say.
Warm water with a tiny amount of cheap crap washing up liquid, lather it on the bonnet, lay the decals on and move 'em until they're positioned roughly. Use a credit card (or similar flat straight edge) with a duster wrapped round it to squeeze as much water and soap out from under the decal, re-position .. Bob's your uncle ...
