Changing auto box to Manuel.there is a flat casing on the back of the block that join's the box.
Does anyone know if I need to replace it or leave it.because if I have to replace the bell housing surely I would need to replace it.
Also what's people's thoughts on the transfer box.should I change it also.

Think tfer box is the same, there is just an adaptor between the boxes and an adaptor shaft.

I think the engine's aluminium rear cover / oilseal housing / bellhousing adapeter thinggy differs between auto & manual:confused:

probably wrong though:oops:

Rich.

I am meaning between the engine and the bell housing.
I am replacing with a r380 Manuel.
Is this what your referring too below. “Cover bell housing bottom.”
If not, then I understand that a parts manual can be down loaded, which will help you with a description.

That part FRC2859 is fitted to both manual & auto.
As for the transfer box the are a few variations on that different numbers and variations between auto and manual, petrol or diesel although the ratios are the same unless its for the Japanese market. Transmission isn’t my thing so whats available looks a mine field to me.
