Just for info pay attention to your front drive shaft rear universal joints

I just bought a D2 with a roadworthy that is supposed to inspect universal joints. 2200 Km & 15 days later a very load bang at 85 kmh under acceleration with a trailer on and the front shaft failed destroying the auto transmission housing, cooling lines and shift cable in the process.
!@#$%^ expensive tho I have a good chance of restitution as they will loose their roadworthy licence if I report it to VicRoads

I've just had the pleasure of puncturing the auto trans case with a broken prop shaft. Mine happened when just taking off from the traffic lights. Doesn't appear to have damaged anything else though. The case has broken just above the sump pan at the gasket/seal. Does anyone know if this can be welded so as to fit the seal and sump pan back again? I think/hope the broken piece is lying in the sump and can be retrieved and welded back. Also will the propshaft breaking have damaged the gears?

To be honest, they inspected them and deemed them roadworthy 2200 k and 15 days ago .. I think you're complaining about nothing!

What it takes out when it goes isn't their fault at all.
