Ok so iv just had to do a rebuild on my 300tdi, having changed a few bits and bobs and got to the stage of starting I now have fuel getting into my cambelt, anyone have any advice on what o now need to change?

Hello Wayne,

Fuel getting into your timing belt or cam belt as you have called it case does not sound good.
How can you tell fuel is getting on your timing belt?
Did you change the FIP? disconnect it? how big was the rebuild?

Cheers

a poor front seal and worn pump (in that the shaft has been pulled by the new belt)are often shown up when cam belt is changed

Cylinder head has been rebuilt after a blown head gasket

New lift pump
New radiator
New glow plugs
Brought a new timing belt but haven't changed it yet (glad I haven't now)

I know the timing belt case is full of diesel as it's coming out of the drain plug in the bottom of the case as well as from the small hatch where you lock the timing belt
